THE PEOPLE I KNOW: GIRLS IN NOIR

There is something endearing

about black and white.

Even more so,

when you don’t feel robbed of color

but instead enhanced by its absence.

I photograph the people I know.

And take away the distractions.

The girls are colorful in and of themselves.

No VSCO to prove that.

I like women smiling.

Frowning.

Screaming.

Feeling a lot like themselves.

Feeling bold.

And hot.

Or cold.

But always free.

Girls are frightening.

They are electric.

Wired.

Wicked fast.

In black & white,

the girls in noir

illustrate the world

in technicolor.
